Location
Villanueva de Gómez is a town in the province of Ávila, located 26 kilometers from the capital, north of it. It is located in the Moraña Oriental Region, near the Adaja River, which in turn also passes through the capital. The population is 153 inhabitants (INE 2007). It has exceptional road communication, about 90 minutes from Madrid, 80 from Valladolid and 30 from Ávila.
The municipal area consists of 21 km², and is located at an elevation of between 860 to 940 meters above sea level. The climate is continental Mediterranean (Csb in Köppen climate classification) with cold winters (minimums of -12Cº) and short, warm-temperate summers (maximums 32Cº),
